Captiva Family Photo Session

I met this sweet group out at Captiva Island on a sunny Thursday evening and I was so excited to capture this special family trip for them. When loved ones live in different cities or states, it’s easy to let time slip by without getting together, and it’s especially easy to neglect updating your family photos! Especially in this case, with a newest little guy in the picture, it’s so important to fit in the time to gather the crew together and get all dressed up for a few photos. Quite a few families that I work with rent houses or condos on the beach when staying in Captiva, Sanibel, Naples, etc. which makes family photos a breeze! How much easier can it get than walking a few feet out the back door for your photo session? I highly recommend taking photos on site, especially when little ones are involved.

The Perfect, Unplugged Family Vacation

If you are looking for a beach vacation where you can truly escape from all the cares of the world, Capitva is the place to go! From the second you pass over the causeway, you can’t help but notice the unique and quaint characteristics of Sanibel and Captiva Island. It’s a hidden gem here in Southwest Florida, but once you find out about this place you’ll keep coming back! After hurricane Ian, I was unsure of when I would return to Sanibel or Captiva Island, or how often I would get to photograph families there again. It was such an encouragement to see how much the area has been cleaned up, and to see that there are already quite a few families or other groups visiting. Living in a destination area, we rely heaving on tourists to keep islands like Captiva up and running, so to know that people are already returning is such a beautiful thing. Here’s to many more sessions out on Captiva Island!
